Week-long complete lockdown imposed in Delhi amid Covid spike

The government of Delhi has announced a complete lockdown in the national capital from 10 PM of Monday (April 19) till Monday 5 AM (April 26) amid surge in Covid cases.

The chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, today addressing the media announced the decision taken by the government of Delhi to curb the spread of the dreaded coronavirus. Arvind Kejriwal said, “It has been decided to impose a lockdown in Delhi, from 10 pm tonight to 6 am next Monday (26th April).”

The chief minister further added, “Essential services, food services, medical services will continue. Weddings can be held with a gathering of only 50 people, passes will be issued separately for it. A detailed order will be issued shortly.”

Delhi on Sunday reported 25,462 COVID-19 cases and 161 deaths surging the total active cases to 74,941.
