World number one Magnus Carlsen was defeated by India’s 16-year-old Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa in the eighth round of the Airthings Masters, an online rapid chess tournament.
Indian R Praggnanandhaa won with black pieces in 39 moves to halt Carlsen’s run of three straight wins. The Indian Grandmaster is currently on the joint 12th spot in the tournament after eight rounds with eight points.
